9:43p - A Touch of Infidelity
Infidelity is actually very common in RL, but is rarely explored in the often-idealized romantic world of fanfiction. And yet, this theme can result in beautiful angst, in the hands of a good writer.
The stories below all deal with the theme of infidelity, which one of us (Regan) finds interesting. How each one handles this issue varies: in some, Snape or Harry is cheating on the other, while in other stories one of them features as the third party (e.g., Harry is in a committed relationship with someone, and he's seeing Snape on the side), or the infidelity is even more complicated than that. What they have in common is that they're all unusual.

11:00p - Out and Out Angst
Sometimes, you want angst: stories that have tension, drama, and a sharp edge. They might even end on a happy or hopeful note, but you can't call them upbeat romances.
This box is for stories with an angsty edge. They don't include serious violence or non con (which you'll find in the "Dark and Twisted" topics box), and they don't involve character death or sheer tragedy (which is the "Cry Your Eyes Out" box). They just include . . . angst. Lovely, tense, edgy angst.

Megyal, My Kind of Guy Unrequited. Harry is a happy-go-lucky kind of guy with a boyfriend; Snape is repressed and teeth-grittingly, fist-clenchingly jealous because Harry likes him but doesn't like him.

A tale of the further woes of the Boy Who Lived -- who, having escaped the monster Scylla, has fallen into Charybdis (Charybdis being he of the hooked nose and greasy hair). Which is all a terribly pretentious way of saying out of the frying pan, into the fire. Read review here
NymShattered (link is to warnings page. Click on "fanfiction" and then find title on list of her Harry Potter stories. This claims to be a rough draft, but is wonderful as is). In order to save Harry's life, Snape must create a bond between them. But can Harry learn to live with that?5 years after the end of "Shattered"

Rex Luscus, Wormwood (SS/HP/RL) It's after the final battle, and Snape is lucky: Harry and Lupin got to him first.
SansaSplinter. Read review hereLife in Kind Harry believes Snape deserves to be immortalised. As usual, he rushes in where angels fear to tread.

Tradescant, Fidelius Harry, all at sea and out in the cold. And its sequel, Secret Keeper Severus Snape is kind of tense.
