Summary: Snape is a survivor.

Reviewer: Aubrem

Let me start out by saying that this short story is not for the faint of heart: nothing upbeat here. For those with the fortitude though, "A True Hero" is a fascinating piece of situational ethics as intepreted through Snape's character.

Set during a large battle with Voldemort, Snape and Harry are isolated, hiding, and in desperate straits. Snape lists their options to Harry and convinces him of the wisest course. Though this story is interesting as an ethical question, it is also a good bit of drama as the reader slowly becomes aware of what Snape is suggesting and is horrified.

For those readers interested in exploring the various permutations of Snape's character, this story is not to be missed; just bring a hanky.
